community ministries

Under ACC's Community Ministry exists a variety of efforts by which ACC is trying to show God's love to Anoka County by living as Jesus lived -- caring in tangible ways for those who are facing challenges with life.  Check out the list below to find out what organizations we support.

  • ACBC Food Shelf

Volunteers have been providing emergency food and clothing to area residents of Anoka County for over forty years. The food shelf is a local nonprofit; non-government agency.

  • elementary school partnerships

ACC partners with two local elementary schools who each have a very high rate of poverty among their students.  We purchase food for take home bags, volunteer hours at various events, school supplies, hats, mittens and other articles of clothing to help these families.

  • Family Promise Ministry to the homeless

Family Promise in Anoka County (FPAC) works with families experiencing homelessness to tailor individualized plans to help them take the necessary steps toward lasting independence. ACC partners with another local church to provide housing, meals and shelter through the Family Promise program 4 weeks a year.

  • hope 4 youth for homeless teens

HOPE 4 Youth, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization located in Anoka, Minnesota, meets the basic needs of young people (ages 23 and under) experiencing homelessness and those at-risk of becoming homeless in the north metro Twin Cities including all of Anoka County and parts of Hennepin County.  ACC supports this organization through donations of all types along with volunteer hours.
