In case you have not seen prior communication, there was an unfortunate event at the Andover Christian Church building on Monday, April 15. There was a small fire in one of our staff offices due to a malfunction of a ceiling light fixture. This did trigger fire suppression putting the fire out, which led to water flooding the main office and smoke through the building. This incident is completely separate from any of the renovation work being done by Kinghorn Construction. Many air filters and dehumidifiers were brought in to clear the air and dry the carpets. Adjusters, inspectors, clean up crew, and city officials were in the building giving us a better picture of what the next few weeks at ACC are going to look like. Though most of the water has been cleaned up, the greater concern is the amount of smoke that spread through the building and what lasting effects that smoke may leave behind. Out of an abundance of caution, we will not be holding worship services this coming weekend, April 21st. We will continue to provide updates as we go through the cleanup process and prepare the building for a safe return to worship.
