Upcoming Events

Here are some of the upcoming events at Andover Christian Church.

After checking them out, if registration is required, you can GO TO iConnect where you can sign up.

  • Office administrator wanted

Rhonda Jensen will be retiring as our Office Administrator on May 31.  Her departure means that we need to begin searching for the next person God is preparing for this important ministry that impacts every single area of our church.  If you feel that this position is something that fits your abilities and gifts as well as something God might be calling you to do, there is a job description available from the office.  Applicants will be asked to complete an application form and submit their resume to the church office.  A search team has been formed to evaluate the applicants and make a recommendation to the ministers and elders.  We ask every member of ACC to pray for God's direction in this search process.

  • spring work day & garden help needed - April 27

Spring Work Day at church is scheduled for Saturday, April 27 from 9:00 AM - Noon.  We'll be working on the yard, islands and gardens as well as other outside projects.  If the weather is bad, we'll move this project to May 4.  We are also looking for a couple of people to take on care of one or two of our gardens.  Contact the office if you are interested.

  • West of 50 event - april 27

If you are looking back on 50, then this event is for you.  Join us on Saturday, April 27 at 6:30 PM here at the church for an evening of fun!  Bring a snack to share, your own drinks and your favorite game to play.  Click here to RSVP.

  • Hymn sing -- april 28

We will be hosting another good ol' fashioned Hymn Sing here at ACC on Sunday, April 28 at 2:00 PM.  Everyone is invited.  Dessert will be served.

  • ditch clean up - april 29

It's time to clean up our portion of Hwy. 20.  We have scheduled Ditch Clean Up for Monday, April 29.  Meet at the corner of Round Lake Blvd. & 157th at 6:30 PM.  Wear boots & gloves.  Vests & trash bag will be provided.  Click here to sign up.  Middle School age and younger are welcome with a parent chaperone.

  • compassion sunday - may 5

Compassion Sunday is an annual event held in churches across the country.  It's an opportunity for you to share your heart for the poor and possibly change their lives forever.  Watch for a table in the lobby on May 5 to learn more about sponsoring a Compassion child.

  • Camp sunday - may 5

Camp Sunday is coming!  Tay Odor, Manger of Pine Haven Christian Assembly, will be here May 5 to present the mission of Pine Haven and preach for us.  Be sure to be here and wear your Pine Haven gear!

  • Youth prayer partner event -- May 5

Prayer Partners is an opportunity to sponsor a youth for the summer. Not only are the youth looking for some additional financial support for camps, CIY, and upcoming missions, they would love someone to support them in prayer. It takes a village! If you are interested in sponsoring a teen, go talk to the teens in the lobby on May 5th or May 12th and choose an envelop off the board. Inside the envelope is a photo and a little information about the teen to get you started. Seek them out and introduce yourself. Return the envelop with your financial donation by June 2nd either in the offering plate or with the office staff. Then continue to connect with the teen throughout the summer, maybe write them a letter when they are at camp, build a connection, and continue to pray for them throughout the summer.

  • Mission trip informational meeting - May 5

There will be an informational meeting Sunday, May 5, from 12:00 - 12:30 PM for the Spring 2020 Mission Trip.  Jim Noreen from Praying Pelican Missions will be here to give information and help answer questions.  Talk to Brent Adams, Terri Kasseth or Tina Meyer with any questions.

  • baby / child dedication - May 12

As we do every Mother's Day, we will be dedicating our new babies and children on May 12.  If you would like to participate in this dedication service, please make a note on your Connections Card or talk to Alanea.  This will happen during our 10:30 AM worship service.

  • prayer walk -- May 18

The Prayer Team is sponsoring a Prayer Walk on Saturday May 18 to raise awareness to the issue of Missing and Exploited Children. Resources to help prevent abduction and sexual exploitation of children will be made available. You will also be given the opportunity to pray for missing and exploited children. You may come anytime from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to pray. This event will be held at the church building.

  • Youth BBQ Fundraiser - may 19

The Youth will be hosting a BBQ fundraiser meal after church on Sunday, May 19 in the fellowship hall.  Mark your calendar!  Financial donations appreciated!

  • Camp scholarship fund

Maybe you are one who has seen the benefits of Pine Haven and want to help fund someone's tuition.  ACC has established a Camp Scholarship Fund.  You can make a check of any amount payable to ACC with "Camp Scholarship" in the memo.  When ACC campers need some financial help, they can apply to receive funds from this scholarship.  Thanks in advance for helping a camper go to Pine Haven!

  • thrive! family support -- Every Tuesday evening

Thrive! is committed to educating the community about how addiction affects not only the lives of the individual, but those surrounding the individual as well.  We offer support groups, private online communities, help line staffed by trained volunteers and connections to local resources.  We have a support group that will meet at Andover Christian Church every Tuesday night at 6:30 PM in the Prayer Room.  Contact the church office for more information or visit Thrive's website at thrivefamilysupport.org/support.
